i think that he's right. the authorities really do believe that they might find that he is at no advantage as compared to normal athletes, and so it would be intensely embarrassing for them. of course, the other reason might be that they don't care and are not hesitating to ride rough-shod over the lone voice of this amazing man.
you missed a subtle point here which is extremely important, agreed he is handicapped but the advances in technology are such that not only his handicap has been compensated but it can provide an improvement way beyond it was possible had he been normal.
Although his hardwork, determination is commendable in the face of such adversity but being a victim doesnt mean that world should turn blind eyes
i did not miss the point. i think that taking either stance blindly is not the solution. what you suggested is a possibility, but not necessarily the truth. i suggest that this controversy be laid to rest by doing something to resolve the ambiguity over his being at an advantage, and not simply forbidding him from participating.
you changed stance mate, but then alright :D
you do need to consider the dilemma, the sports authorities are in. This is certainly no isolated case and definitely with time more of similar nature would come up.
I quote myself:
"the authorities really do believe that they might find that he is at no advantage as compared to normal athletes,"
by this i suggested that the authorities are unwilling to confront the possibility that he is not at an advantage. it's one of the two things that might come up.
and what you said is quite valid. there are no rules that clearly define what to do in such a situation. that is causing even more problems.
