happy endings !!

why call it obsession ? Is it not only natural that given a say over the outcome you would rather watch things ending on a positive note ( or like them to end on a positive note). The melancholy in somber endings does have a poetic beauty, but then you wont always prefer things to end on that note. The ending of the departed, matchpoint, one flew over the cuckoos nest, clockwork orange, the reader were more palatable because of the brilliance in execution rather than just the way they ended. But something says, I for one cant live with everything with a happy note - the cynic within, or maybe just because that is not the way life in real functions............i dont know
