A Mystery that defies both death and decipherment

On July 2, 1937, famed aviator Amelia Earhart disappeared over the South Pacific Ocean, while attempting to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe by air. Along with her was her navigator Fred Noonan. They were nearing the end of a journey that had been 44 days long till that point, and would terminate in Oakland, California, but never did.
